Finding Balance Within: Bistagne’s WholeMind Journey
When life felt out of rhythm, Jim Bistagne decided it was time to explore something different. After hearing a friend share their transformative experience with ketamine therapy, he began researching local clinics and found WholeMind Healing Pathways.
“Several things in my life were out of balance,” he recalls. “Ketamine sounded like an interesting option to sort some stuff out.”
Before treatment, Bistagne’s approach to mental wellness had been minimal — mostly yoga and meditation — but he sensed there was something deeper to uncover. From the very first session, he describes the experience as profound and otherworldly:
“You get a quick shot, put on a blindfold and headset, and get into a comfortable position. In a minute or two the adventure begins, and you are on a journey unlike anything you have known. Your mind is in another place where shapes and colors and feelings are changing along with the soundtrack. You become disconnected from this world — from your thoughts, challenges, and concerns. For a moment you may even question if anything is real. This pause… it is profound.”
It was within that pause that Bistagne began to see ketamine therapy’s deeper purpose. Through post-session integration, he learned to communicate with parts of his mind and uncover the origins of long-held perspectives.
“This relief from your consciousness is an important aspect of the therapy, and the next step is connecting with parts of your mind, navigated by conversation with your guide. This process was completely new to me. Once you get the hang of it, you learn some amazing things about yourself and your experience in life. You learn about the origin of many parts of who you are and discover why you see things the way you do. You gain a new understanding of yourself and develop tools to facilitate positive changes.”
As his understanding grew, Bistagne started to recognize how the revelations from his sessions intertwined with the story of his life, bringing clarity to old patterns and beliefs.
“I learned many things about my perspective on personal relationships — when challenges began, what makes things more or less impactful. This understanding is a prerequisite to developing tools to better manage those issues. Some aspects of the process confirmed what I believed, and some things were truly new to me.”
The experience brought clarity and stability that continue to carry into his daily life.
“After the treatment process, my emotions are more stable. This therapy was a process of training my mind, and the results continue to resound in my daily life. I have a toolbox of sorts to manage challenges in new ways, and I look forward to trying this again sometime.”
For those considering ketamine therapy, Bistagne offers simple advice:
“If you have an open mind and want to learn more about yourself, you may want to give this a try.”
